Having your guitar, bass, or other instrument appraised just makes good sense.

Backstage Music is qualified to appraise most vintage stringed instruments (i.e., guitar, bass, mandolin, lap steel, etc.), and vintage amplifiers.   We have the experience and knowledge necessary to accurately identify the age, condition, and value of your instrument.

Having your valued instruments appraised gives you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that, should the unthinkable happen (home fire or theft, for example), you have an independent appraisal of what your instrument was worth.  Keeping your appraisals current is important, too.  Ask your insurance agent how often a re-appraisal should be done.

If you're considering buying a valuable instrument, having an appraisal done will let you buy with the confidence that comes only from a solid understanding of what you are buying.

An appraisal takes a bit of time to do, usually at least a day, sometimes a few days.  The appraisal considers the originality of the instrument,  its cosmetic state and general condition, and other factors that influence the final value.

Once completed, your written appraisal should be kept in a safe place, such as your safety deposit box, or at the home of a relative.  It should never be kept in the same building as the appraised instrument, just in case.

With over three decades experience in handling vintage instruments, Backstage Music document your instrument, and give you the peace of mind you deserve, knowing your instrument has been fairly and accurately appraised.
